Well, I don't know what exactly happened. The newer editorials that support the cameras (I'm assuming) are by The Editor, and by a reporter named Ed Balint. I was going to call in and ask them what was up with their support of the cameras, seeing the plethora of problems already out in the open, and more to come... but I'm not sure I could keep from accusing them of being shills for Redflex and the City.

I'm pretty sure Charita Goshay and Bob Russ still stand by their opinions on the issue, but they've had their chance to say their piece, and I don't look for the Repository to allow any in depth reporting that includes much damning evidence against the systems, and I'm just too cynical right now to expect them to defend the peoples' rights.

There is a lot of money involved.

Nick,

I just went to the Canton Repository website and did a search for red cameras, then traffic cameras. You are right on man! The Rep has done a complete about face on the issue. My guess is that somebody got to the writers and told them "if you know what is best for you, you will support this issue."
